چکیده
T ueday, M arch 8, 2017 METHODS: Patients who underwent Exparel injection and On-Q implantation following autologous reconstruction were reviewed. Primary outcome measures included: Patient Controlled Analgesia (PCA) dose/frequency/ attempts/rejections, daily pain score, required oral postoperative pain medication, and return-to-ambulation. Postoperative oral pain medications were converted to morphine equivalent dosages for analysis. Pain scores were on a 010 scale and return-to-ambulation was calculated using the Braden scale. Bivariate statistics were performed to identify differences and similarities between the two groups.

Abstract: The Impact of Hospital Volume on Clinical and Economic Outcomes in Ventral Hernia Repair: An Analysis with National Policy Implications
INTRODUCTION: There is a growing interest in identifying provider and hospital characteristics associated with improved patient outcomes for surgical procedures. Increased operative volume has been associated with benefits in patient centric and economic outcomes for a variety of surgical procedures. In ventral hernia repair, however, there has been a paucity of studies assessing the associatio...
متن کاملComparative efficacy of Prolene and Prolene-Vicryl composite mesh for experimental ventral hernia repair in dogs
In this study, efficacy of two hernia mesh implants viz. conventional Prolene and a novel Prolene-Vicryl composite mesh was assessed for experimental ventral hernia repair in dogs. Twelve healthy mongrel dogs were selected and randomly divided into three groups, A, Band C (n=4). In all groups, an experimental laparotomy was performed; thereafter, the posterior rectus sheath and peritoneum were ...

متن کاملOutcomes Following Placement of Non–Cross-Linked Porcine-Derived Acellular Dermal Matrix in Complex Ventral Hernia Repair
Repair of complex ventral hernias frequently results in postoperative complications. This study assessed postoperative outcomes in a consecutive cohort of patients with ventral hernias who underwent herniorrhaphy using components separation techniques and reinforcement with non-cross-linked intact porcine-derived acellular dermal matrix (PADM) performed by a single surgeon between 2008 and 2012...
متن کاملOutcomes following repair of incarcerated and strangulated ventral hernias with or without synthetic mesh
BACKGROUND The use of synthetic mesh for ventral hernia repair under contaminated conditions is a controversial issue due to the considerable risk of surgical site infection (SSI). This study aimed to review the outcomes of repair of incarcerated and strangulated ventral hernias with or without synthetic mesh in compliance with established clinical guidelines regarding the incidence of SSI and ...
